Evajane Corbin

Evajane Corbin left her earthly body on January 18, 2012 at the age of 92. She was born on June 27, 1919 in Oklahoma City to Cecil and Lizzie Barnes. Evajane and Carl William Corbin were united in marriage at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 1938 in Norman, Oklahoma. What a way to start the new year.

Evajane was a full-time homemaker. She was a gentle lady who loved to read books in her later years. She had an independent stroke a mile wide. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing, bowling and going out to eat with the girls.

Evajane was preceded in death by her husband Carl of 42 years, 2 infant children, her parents and both of her sisters.

Survivors include her son Charles and wife Sue of Yukon, Oklahoma. Grandchildren Vince and Robyn Corbin. Granddaughter Christie Mitchell and great grandchildren Madison and Jacob, and grandson Buddy Corbin and great grandchildren Cody and Chloe of Mustang, OK; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be at Bill Merritt Funeral home on Sunday January 22, 2012 from noon to 4 PM.

Graveside services will be at 10AM on Monday, January 23, 2012 at IOOF Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma
