Gabriella "Gay" T. Long

Gabrielle “Gay” Theresa Long, 95, passed away in her sleep on February 9, 2023 at Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, OK. She was the widow of George Long who shared 21 years of marriage together before his passing in 2012.

Born December 6, 1927 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to George and Margaret (Bottrell) Rabideau. She graduated high school in Muskegon, Michigan and went on to work many positions in the food service industry. At the time of her retirement, she worked as an activity director for a nursing center.

Gay served the Lord in local Baptist churches along side of her husbands until their health prevented attendance to do so. Gay enjoyed sending cards to family and friends along with journaling her thoughts to the Lord. She was involved in the YMCA with her husbands and belong to many women organizations. Gay was a mighty fine singer, too.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester Taylor, husband George Long, son Billy Watters, son in law Eddie Gerred, daughter in law Trudy Watters, 2 sisters Pat LaVoy and Marion Jensen, 1 brother George Rabideau, 1 grandson, 1 granddaughter, 1 great granddaughter, 1 great grandson and 1 great great grandson.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Becky Gerred of Edmond, OK, Mada and and her husband Ray Chavez of Wylie, TX, 1 son, Danny Watters of Bridge Creek, OK, step children, Arlene and John Simunek, Bison, and Jerry and Shari Long of Enid, OK; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 33 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1pm-8pm Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.

Services will be 10am Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service with interment to follow at Enid Cemetery.
