She was born August 21, 1912 in Morrilton, Arkansas her parents were Aggie Amons and Joseph McCasland. Her mother died when she was 4 years old. Her dad re-married when she was 6 to Ruth Timmons. She was a good mother to Georgia, her brother Harry, and her sister Marie and they loved her very much. The marriage produced another son D. II… So there were 4 children altogether.
At the age 16 years old the family moved to Blanchard, OK. She graduated from high school with high honors. She and Marie both had enjoyed playing basketball. After graduation she went to Hill’s business college in OKC. Her 1st job was a car dealership in Warrika. She kept their books and made $12.50 a week.
She married the love of her life Lonnie Warner on February 18, 1939. They were married 61 years…they lived in OKC were they worked and raised their 2 sons Richard and Mike. Lonnie was in WW II and was in the Philippines when their oldest son Richard was born. Their sons were the light of her life and she loved them with all her heart. She did the same when her grandchildren and great grand-children came.
She was part of the greatest generation. She never gave up, never quit, she was never too tired or too broke to help someone in need. She never thought about getting a divorce, or not taking her husband’s mother into their home for most of their married life. In later years, when her husband got totally handicapped and needed full time care she stepped up and took care of him with love, only a wife could give. When she lost her husband and both her sons she would get sad sometimes, but she never quit encouraging people around her. She never lost her faith in God. She taught 4 years old Sunday school for years and loved them. Whatever job she had she would put all she had into it and was a great employee. She always worked fulltime until retirement age. She would sew her cloths, raise and can food from a garden, ride the bus to work all to help out the family. She always put God 1st and her family 2nd always before herself. She helped people around her until a week before she died when she became too ill.
Her passing left a big hole in the Warner family but we were so blessed to have her as long as we did. We know she’s in heaven now and we’ll see her again one day. She loved to fish and I think they are always biting up there. O.U lost one of their most dedicated fans. Our family lost a great mother, grandmother and friend to all of us but heaven has to be a better place now that she’s there.
