Gordon Shryock

Gordon was born in Gage, Oklahoma on July 10, 1952. He was the first child of Barbara Ann (Hardy) Shryock and Howard Allen Shryock, Jr. He graduated from Putnam City High School in 1970 and attended Oklahoma State University. He worked at and was part owner of Northwest Auto and Truck in Bethany, OK until around 1998 when the business was sold.

During his life, Gordon enjoyed playing the bass guitar and singing, both with friends and at church, fixing just about anything electronic or automotive, and spending time with friends and family.

Gordon is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth.

He is survived by: his sons, Cody R. Shryock, and Cory R. Keyser; his brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Lee Shryock of Stillwater, OK; brother and sister-in-law, Jon Shryock and Lezette Boutin of Okla. City; sister, Lu Ann Rutledge of Trophy Club, TX; and parents, Barbara and Howard Shryock of Okla. City.

Viewing will be Tuesday, August 20th at Bill Merritt Funeral Home, 6201 NW 39th Expy, Bethany, OK 73008 from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm; and the funeral will be held at Hope Church, 3100 N. Meridian Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73112, on Wednesday, August 21st at 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations to American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
