Joann Flint

JoAnn Flint, age 87, passed peacefully on Tuesday evening, December 7, 2010 in Edmond, Oklahoma with her daughter Sandy and grandson Zac at her side. JoAnn was born Friday, July 27, 1923 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Judge A. and Annie J. Brown. After spending her childhood years in the Chickasha area, she later moved to Oklahoma City. She married Alexander Flint in 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Preceding her to her heavenly home were her parents (1976 and 1985); her husband Alex in 1984; son David in 2003; son Bruce in 2005; grandson Danny Sides in 1974; granddaughter Julie Sides in 1976; sister Ruby St. Onge in 1989; brother Billy Brown in 1993; brother J.A. Brown in 1995; step-daughter Pasty Flint-Lee. She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie and her husband Bill Shannon of Duncan; Sandy and her husband Glenn Wilson of Yukon; Betty Holsonbake; Donna Barker; son Frank Surber; and step-son Larry Flint. She is also survived by grandchildren, Christi Johanning of Bethany; Jeff Sides of Duncan; Kenny Wilson of OKC; Zac Wilson of Yukon; Little Bruce; Tina; and Jason David. She is also survived by her special extended list of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. We know she especially “regretfully” leaves her little brothers, Johnny Brown, Earl Brown, Jimmy Brown, Bobby Brown, and Russell Brown.

The family wishes to extend a very special heartfelt THANK YOU to the ENTIRE STAFF of the Edmond Healthcare Center and City Hospice of OKC. Their kindness and compassion are absolutely overwhelming. What a wonderful group of people!

Service will be at 2 pm Monday, December 13, 2010, at Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma with the Pastor Keith Henson officiating. Burial will follow at the Kansas Cemetery, 192nd & Morgan Road, Piedmont, Oklahoma.
