Joyce Boehler

Joyce Vaughn Boehler, 76, was born on October 14, 1938 in Bonham, Texas. She was called to Heaven on September 24, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, after fighting a brave fight with a long term illness.

Joyce was a devoted homemaker and later she became a Radar Technician at Texas Instruments. She then decided to become a baker at her local Sam’s Club and retired after 15 years so she could spend more time with her family.

Her biggest passion was caring for her family, followed by cooking and traveling. Her greatest joy was always spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Pete Boehler, 2 daughters, Debbie Lyons and Janet Osborne, twin sons, Tim Boehler and Jeff Boehler, all from Oklahoma City. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Richard Logan, Jennifer Ward and husband Jared, Tamara Owens and husband Brian, Paige Boehler, and 4 wonderful great grandchildren, Trista Logan, Makayla Owens, Mason Owens, and Everett Ward – with 2 more on the way!! – along with 2 step great grandchildren, Rilee Owens and Melea Owens. She is also survived by her sister Patricia (Vaughn) Clifton, and multiple other cousins, nieces, nephews and family. And of course - last but not least - her rescue cat, “Patches” and her ever-present and loving grand dog, “Bear.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lucille Vaughn, 3 brothers, David Vaughn, Larry Vaughn, and Michael Vaughn, 1 sister, LaNelle Owens, and 2 grandchildren, Stacy Hadley and Russell Hadley.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service in Bethany from 12:00 pm. - 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2015 at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City.
