Laura Elizabeth Brandle

Laura “Elizabeth” Malone Brandle departed this life on March 22, 2010. Elizabeth was born on April 30, 1921, in Crowder, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Jenks High School and Tulsa Business College. She moved to Oklahoma City with her family in 1961 and became an active member of Grace United Methodist Church from 1961 until her recent move to Norman to be close to family. The church was the center of Elizabeth’s life and she enjoyed the many activities and friendships rooted there. Elizabeth met challenges in her life with dignity, style and overwhelming determination. Her kind nature and thoughtful compassion never failed to touch those she met. During her life, she enjoyed square dancing and held a number of offices in those clubs. Elizabeth worked as an auditing supervisor for 22 years at Reserve National Insurance Company and retired in 1991. Elizabeth was very thankful to God for giving her a great life and her wonderful children. She loved her children and was grateful for the time spent with them. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Mae Craeger, father, Daniel Hudson Malone, and her two brothers and two sisters. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Laura Reeves of Heathsville, VA and her husband David; her son Michael Brandle of Kannapolis, NC and his wife Paula; and her daughter Sharron Oelke of Norman, OK and her husband Ronald. Other surviving family members include her granddaughter Lori Chandler and her husband Greg of Norman, OK; grandson Lance Oelke of Houston, TX; and granddaughter Rachel Gatz and her husband Dustin of Concord, NC and great-granddaughter Aubrie Gatz. Visitation will occur at Bill Merritt Funeral Home on Thursday, March 25th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Friday, March 26th at 10:30 a.m. Donations may be sent to Grace United Methodist Church in memory of Elizabeth Brandle.
