

Lena Mary Miner Bigelow, 92, passed away April 6, 2011. She was born January 26, 1919 in Hanna, OK to James Ernest and Bertie Olivia Miner. Lena worked in the pattern department of Seamproof and Komar in McAlester, OK. She was a charter member of the Eastern Star, Savanna Chapter and Worthy Matron for 50 years. Lena was a faithful member of the Savanna First Baptist Church. She was a brilliant seamstress and enjoyed making clothing for her family. She leaves behind a strong legacy to her family, living life to the fullest to the very end. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Bigelow; daughter, Barbara Crandal; sisters, Dorothy Doyal and Ola Shield; and brothers, George and James Miner. She is survived by her siblings, Walter Miner and wife Opal of Tecumseh, OK, Jewell Williams, B. Coleman and husband Carrol, and Peggy Beard, all of OKC; sister-in-law, Evelyn Miner of OKC; and a host of nieces and nephews (great and great-great). Services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jacob’s Cupboard (food pantry), 144 E. Olympic, Yukon, OK 73099.
