

He was born in Kinsley, KS in 1967 to Titus and Oretta “Sue” Klassen. Along with his brother, Max Klassen, and parents, he moved to Burlington, OK where he attend school playing basketball and tennis.
Mike met a cute cheerleader, Marla, from a rival school in 1985, and they started dating his freshman year of college and her senior year of high school. Mike knew Marla loved him and he was going to marry her when they pushed started his car on their date. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married August 6, 1988 in Cherokee, Oklahoma.
Mike and Marla moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma and couldn’t wait to start a family of their own. They had two daughters, and their children meant the world to them. Mike spent his time coaching his girls’ sport teams, planning memorable vacations, and documenting their lives with TONS of photographs and videos.
Though he loved being a dad, Mike’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their Papa, never failing to support their love and interests. Mike loved to have grandkid time with each kid individually spending time doing their favorite activity.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Titus Klassen, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Marla Klassen; daughters, Brittany (Zach) Cranor and Shay (Chesney) Swartwood; grandchildren, Huxley, Sutner, and Declan Cranor and Lynlee and Eli Swartwood; mother, Oretta “Sue” Klassen (George Faulkinbury); brother, Max (Kim) Klassen; and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was a member of Together We Church. Together We Church will be the location for celebration of life on May 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation of decorative crosses for the wife’s new home or monetary donation to Together We Church or St. Jude to honor Mike’s life.
