Noma Jean "Jeanie" Evans

Noma Jean “Jeanie” Evans passed away July 3, 2011. She was born the 13th of 14 children to Herbert William and Myrtle (Underwood) Gustin in Broxton, OK on November 21, 1931. She graduated from Apache H.S. in 1949. Jeanie married Billy Evans on November 22, 1949. She retired from Lucent Technologies in 1993. Jeanie enjoyed spending time her last years with her companion Bill Barrows, traveling and visiting friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Doyle, Noel, Dean and Raymond; sisters, Lorene, Almeda, Alta Faye, Lois and Maudie Bell; and daughter-in-law, Kari Evans. Jeanie is survived by her sister, Bernice Brines; brothers, Loyd, Melvin and Wendel; children, Debbie Cheney, Sharon Roschal and husband Randy, and Robert Evans; grandchildren, Richard Cheney and wife Michelle, Steven Cheney, David Cheney, Rusty Cox, Brian Cox and wife Symphony, Kacie Wright and husband Jon, Tanner Evans, Zachary Evans, Luke Evans, and Victory Evans; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery in Apache, OK.
