Patricia Ann Hatfield, age 84, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Guthrie. She was born March 17, 1940 in Bell Gardens, California to Allie and Leola (Roller) Kerr. Patricia was number 6 of 9 children. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1958. Patricia married Max Lary on August 22, 1958. They fostered many children before adopting Debbie in 1965. Then 10 years later, they were surprised with Bobby. Patricia and Max were married until 1989. She began working as a bookkeeper/accountant at various places, including Drabek and Hill, Tyson Foods, and Million Air at Wiley Post Airport. It was there that her love of flying began. She met Bert Hatfield and they married in April of 1992 and made their home in Texas where her love of flying continued. She got her pilot’s license and they traveled all over the United States together. Patricia made many flights by herself from Dallas to Oklahoma City to visit her family. They eventually moved back to Oklahoma due to his poor health and her accident in 2016, involving many broken bones. Patricia fought long and hard to recover but unfortunately had more broken bones, as well as the death of her husband Bert. Her early years were a struggle as she battled with alcoholism. In the late 80’s she began her sobriety journey and was very involved with AA and sponsored many, many people over the years. Patricia was sweet with a little bit of spice. She loved having fun and traveling, she loved sporty cars, and she enjoyed reading. Patricia also loved music such as Johnny Mathis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, and Loretta Lynn and could be found watching Murder She Wrote, Law & Order, or Hallmark movies year round. We find great comfort and peace that after years of searching and being lost, she professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. We would also like to thank Companion Hospice for supporting us and honoring our mom with great care in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Lary; husband, Bert Hatfield; and 7 siblings.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Randy Taylor; son, Bobby Lary; grandchildren, Haleigh Kenney and husband Carlos, Whitnee Kunschik, Carley Moore and husband Colten, Austin Smith, and Owen Lary, ; great grandchildren, Ivy Moore, Noah Moore, Carver Kenney, and Hildie Kenney; sister, Chris Martin and husband Les; as well as many other family members.
A graveside service will be 11am Monday, October 14, 2024 at Rose Hill Burial Park in the Woodsbrook Cremation Garden.
