Peter William Boehler

Pete was born on November 1, 1937, in Ivanhoe, Texas, to M.L. and Ola (Sanford) Boehler. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1956 and receiving his honorable discharge in 1960.

On November 30, 1957, Pete married the love of his life, Joyce Vaughn. Together they shared nearly 58 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. They made their home in Oklahoma City, where they raised four children and built a life centered on family, hard work, and love.

Pete worked for many years at the Oklahoma Publishing Company, where he served as a warehouse foreman. Retirement didn’t suit him for long, and he soon returned to work at AutoZone, delivering parts across the state of Oklahoma. He eventually retired two years ago as his health continued to decline.

A devoted provider, Pete took great pride in caring for his family and ensuring they were always taken care of. He cherished time spent with loved ones, enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, and loved helping his brother-in-law on the farm in Texas. He was always up for an adventure with his family, from trick-or-treating to trips to Disney World.

Pete was known for his kind heart, ornery sense of humor, and friendly nature. He never met a stranger and loved making new friends, everyone who met him loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, M.L. and Ola Boehler; his beloved wife, Joyce Boehler; his son, Tim Boehler; his daughter, Debbie Lyons; his granddaughter, Stacy Hadley; his grandson, Russell Hadley; and brother, Mickey Boehler.

Pete is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janet Osborne and Greg Cobbs; his son, Jeff Boehler and Amber; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jared) Ward, Paige Boehler, Tamara (Brian) Owens, Richard (Eileen) Logan, and Christopher Cobbs; his great-grandchildren, Everett Ward, Hadley Ward, Callen Ward, Makayla Owens, Mason Owens, Remington Owens, Reghan Owens, and Trista Logan; as well as other loving family members and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, with interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
