My Condolences to the family. She was a great Dr and a wonderful person to talk to. Thank you Dr. Susan Grandel for being my Doctor

With heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beloved Susan Aiuto Byrd Grandle, who passed away on Sunday, January 12th. Susan was more than just a friend and a loved one—she was like another mother to me and a cherished Gigi to our girls. Her presence in our lives was a true blessing.

Susan was a remarkable woman—intelligent, dynamic, caring, spirited, sassy, independent, and creative. She had a keen eye for home decor, with a taste that was unmatched, even having her house featured in a home magazine once. Her innovation and creativity extended to all she did, and she poured herself into everything with passion and grace.

Professionally, Susan had a long and fulfilling career as a nurse and nurse practitioner. She dedicated her life to helping and caring for countless people, and her impact on those she served will never be forgotten.

For over four decades, Susan and my mom Susan were best friends, a bond that began in 1976/77and only grew stronger with time. She watched my sisters and I grow up, offering love, support, and, yes, unsolicited advice, which we always appreciated. Her candid opinions and wise counsel will be missed more than words can express.

For the past 19 weeks, Susan fought courageously to stay with us, showing strength and determination through it all. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her.
We have so .any fond memories of Susan. Much love and peace 
Rest in peace, Susan. You will never be forgotten.

To Susan's family- please accept my condolences in your loss. I enjoyed my association with Susan. She was a shining star in the often dim world of medical practice. I admired her grit and tenacity . She had her own program was certainly not one of the "herd". Indeed, she will be sorely missed.

In 1995, Susan co-founded Good Shepherd Hospice, which remains in operation today and has cared for tens of thousands of patients.  She was a true trailblazer, thought leader and innovator, who cast a large shadow.  I’ll miss her.

Susan was one my neighbors that turned into another mom for me. She always let me use her pool and I even house sat a couple of times. My thoughts are with the family and I love y'all! Barbara and the kids

What an incredible human being Susan was. She was my aunt and always made me feel like I belonged when so many others didn’t.  I will never forget her kindness and wittiness. She raised her children to follow in her footsteps.  To say she brought my favorite cousin into this world would  be an understatement She created such a loving environment to everyone and I promise to keep her light shining, always! She, Jalyn, and Bobby have cared for my most prized possessions on this earth and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You are so loved and thank you for spreading your kindness to all of us.

Dr. Grandle was the best! I first met her as my preceptor for NP school. Then she became my husband’s and my PCP. I always loved how she would tease my husband, when we saw her together!

Dr Susan, as mom (Wanda Stone) and I called her ; was a good friend, as well as a wonderful Nurse Practitioner for mom. She was very special. She helped me be a better caregiver for mom and my hubby. So grateful the Lord brought Susan into our lives. We were blessed 😇

We met 35 years ago, I was a student nurse and she was the instructor.  She taught me so much about what a nurse needed to know. She did not stop with that she taught me life skills.  I was a bit hard headed,  but so was she. I have so many memories that only started in college. After graduation she called me a offer me a job. That job offer last one weekend.
The following week in front of God an the entire facility staff.  She introduced me as the assistant director.  Hmm  She was sneak too. 
I became blessed to have worked with her and not only was she the best mentor for a young new nurse.  Then she became a great friend, and the many things she taught me have gone with me through my life.   She changed my life into a better life.  I loved her dearly.  RIP my teacher, mentor and friend.

Dr Byrd/Grandle  will forever be my mentor.  She helped mold me to be a better nurse. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
I will forever be a Byrd girl.

I owe a deep debt of gratitude to Susan for the many years she devoted to caring for my mom. Her kindness and dedication made a lasting impact, and I have never forgotten her compassion.

We loved Susan she had compassion, understood her as she always explained everything in detail. She will truly be missed as a person and Dr. My heart goes out to the family. Love Tim and Dori Mcfarland
