Oklahoma City resident Vincent Albert Foxhoven, age 92, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020. He was born May 18, 1927 in Fleming, Colorado to John Bernard Foxhoven and Elizabeth (Uphoff) Foxhoven. Vince attended school in Colorado and then joined the United States Army. He married Jewell Marie Birtciel on December 1, 1955 in Oklahoma City. He worked for Tom Brown Optical for many years, rising up to co-owner by the time he retired. Retirement didn’t last long, however; he then went to work selling optical supplies for another optician in the area. He retired again after a few years, but still did other jobs to keep himself busy. He worked for a property company, the State Fair, and election sites- to name a few. Vince occupied his time with some of his favorite hobbies: golf, cards, dominoes, hunting, fishing, and boating. He was an active member of the Epiphany Men’s Club until his illness. He also participated in Toastmasters and was a former member of the Elks Club. Vince was preceded in death by his wife Jewell, in 1988; siblings, Marguerite, Helen, Harold, Bernice, Don, and Adele; parents; nieces and nephews: Janice Lechman, Jim Davis, Kathy Taylor, Gary Davis Jerry Foxhoven, and Teddy Mertens. He is survived by his children, Teresa Coffman and husband Jim, of Oklahoma City, Bob Foxhoven and wife Sharon, of Oklahoma City, and Lizz Foxhoven of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Allison Williams, husband, Jeremy, of Edmond, OK, Gina Marie Foxhoven of OKC, Trey Coffman and wife, Carolina, of OKC; and Leslie Marie Coffman of Chicago, IL.; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Hailey Williams of Edmond. As well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dorset Memory Care and Suncrest Hospice for their loving care. Vince was a long-time supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and he would be happy if others wanted to contribute to in his memory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 3pm Monday, June 22 at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Bird officiating. Per the church, a mask or face covering is required for attendance.
