Viola “Kay” Torres, 74, of Edmond, OK died Saturday, August 1, 2020. She was born October 12, 1945 to Alvin and Annabelle Gallion in Christiansburg, VA. She graduated from nursing school in 1971, and spent over 20 years working in the emergency departments of Hillcrest Hospital and Moore Medical Center. In retirement, Kay and her husband, Simon were avid travelers and loved seeing new places. Kay is preceded by her husband of 52 years, Simon “Frank” Torres. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Christa Torres and her daughter Lisa Torres all of Edmond, OK; 2 Sisters, Charlotte Mutter and husband, Roy of Mt. Carmel, TN and Mary Gautier and husband, Jim of Narrows, VA; 3 grandchildren; Kelsi Rather and husband Will, Kaitlyn Crisp and husband Derion, and Brianne Torres, 2 great grandchildren; Jordan and Avery Crisp and a host of other extended family members and friends she enjoyed spending time with. In lieu of flowers, the family would request charitable donations be made in the name of Simon and Kay Torres to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association. Private Family Services will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
