Wanda June Love

Wanda June Love, 88, of Yukon, Oklahoma passed peacefully after a short illness on May 12th, 2021. Wanda was born March 23rd, 1933 in Oklahoma City. Wanda married her "honey" John Floyd Love, Jr. on August 30th, 1952. Together they raised their 3 children, Jimmy, Gayla and David in Oklahoma City. In 1963 they bought their forever home in Yukon, Oklahoma. Wanda was a beautician, a talent she used on her children, mom, grandchildren and many friends. Wanda was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren. Her door was always open for a cup of coffee and a good talk. She was a loving mom and then became a very proud Grandma. She was always available for a sleepover with her granddaughters. After their children were grown Floyd and Wanda Traveled across the country, several times taking 1 or 2 granddaughters to California and Silver Dollar City. They took many trips together, visiting over 35 states. They eventually bought a lot at Lake Eufaula where they enjoyed spending time with their children and granddaughters. Wanda loved Country Music and traveling to local Casinos with her honey. She loved spending time with her family. Wanda is survived by her husband of 68 years, John Floyd Love, Jr; her children Jimmy Love, Gayla Lawrence and spouse Ray and David Love and spouse Sandra. She is also survived by her Granddaughters, Angel Love, June Cherry, Tracy Dougherty and spouse Ron, Miccah Love, Amber Thomas and spouse Matt, Seana Moon and spouse David. Wanda was blessed to be a big influence and loved by her great grandchildren, Travis Hutton, Shane Love, Brittany Rossman, Annie Love, Samantha Bradshaw, Logan Moon, Benjamin Moon, Summer Moon, Branden Decker, Ashley Decker, Jaden Gilmore, Jaxen Gilmore, Jameson Gilmore, Carter Thomas and Hudson Thomas. Wanda June is survived by siblings Kay Stewart, Raymond Stewart, Yvonne Rayhart, Pam Harkey, Danny Peterson and Karen Jackson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her mom, Elva Stanford and father, Bill Stewart. Sadly she was also preceded in death by her loving sisters, Virginia Storey, Glenda Couffer and Francis Lowery. Wanda's funeral service will be held Monday May, 17th at 10:00 A.M. at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 NW 39th Expwy, Bethany Ok. 73008. Visitation will be Sunday May 16th at Bill Merritt Funeral Service from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Services will be officiated by Kent Risley. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery on NW Expressway in Oklahoma City. Pallbearers are Shane Love, Jaden Gilmore, Jaxen Gilmore, Jameson Gilmore, Carter Thomas, Ron Dougherty, and Matt Thomas.
