William Franklin Mathis

William Franklin Mathis was born on October 23, 1934 to Orvil and Myrtle (Hall) Mathis in Elmwood, Beaver Co., OK. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 21, 2020. He was the oldest of three children, Billy Frank, Bobby Lee and Jimmy Ray Mathis.

Billy Frank attended Beaver Schools 1st through 12th grade and graduated in 1953. That same year he married his sweetheart, Maxine Stapp on June 20, 1953.

Billy and Maxine had 3 children, Donna Jean, Winnona Kay and William Russell.

They lived on the farm in Beaver Co. where he grew up for 33 years, then moved into the town of Beaver. In 2012, he and Maxine moved to Edmond, OK to be closer to family and doctors.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Orvil and Myrtle Mathis and his brother, Bobby.

He is survived by his wife Maxine of 67 years, daughters, Donna Jean Howard of Oklahoma City, OK, Winnona Kay Robertson of Oologah, OK and son, William Russell Mathis of Oklahoma City, OK. Six grandchildren, Allicia Shearer, Lindy Kay Calico and husband, Ike, Melissa Dunbar and husband, Trey, Joni Hickok, John Robertson and Shelbi Mathis. Eight great grandchildren, Hadley Calico, Brody Calico, Macey Calico, Mackenzie Hickok, Hardy Hickok, Covil Shearer, Corbin Shearer and Cole Dunbar. Bill is also survived by a brother, Jim Mathis and wife, Sharon and a nephew, Shane Mathis and family of Beaver, OK
