Binghamton: Eleanor L. Carr, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 06, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Carr, Jr. and her son, Gerald W. Carr. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Geraldine Shumadine; her nephews, Albert and Lucy Shumadine, and James and Nga Shumadine. Eleanor retired from the NY State Hospital in Binghamton after many years of service. She was also a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Binghamton. She loved reading the Bible and her pet cats. Her family will miss her very much. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 9th at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson with Pastor Scott Roloson officiating. Burial will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Eleanor's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
