Robert J. Paterson

Robert John Paterson, 63, of The Villages, FL and Binghamton, NY passed away Wednesday (October 7, 2015) after a long and heroic battle with brain cancer. He was born on October 3, 1952 in Dover, NJ to the late Arthur R. Paterson and Melinda Paterson of Madison, NJ. Rob, a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, majored in Industrial Psychology. His career was in Human Resources, specializing in Contract Negotiations for Allied-Signal, NJ, General Tire in KY, and most recently Amphenol Aerospace in Sidney, NY. Rob enjoyed many activities throughout his life including tennis, biking, dancing, horseback riding, golf and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Kristie (Marsh) Paterson; his daughter, Nicole Babcock and husband Ron of Conklin, NY; son, Robert Paterson, Jr. and wife Ashley of Binghamton, NY; and grandchildren Cora Hanrahan, Carson Babcock, and Michael Paterson. Rob is also survived by his mother, Melinda (Illingworth) Paterson, of Sarasota, FL; brother, Art Paterson of Palmetto, FL; sisters Ruth Clements of Washington, GA, and Melinda Scrafford of Ashburn, VA; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901 on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow.
