I have been thinking about Bari the last few days.  She was such a force of nature and so loved.  I miss her and miss hearing about Evan.   I hope he is doing well.


I remember Bari fondly.  We spent many times together while our sons were in Scouts together.  Then when my oldest son was in High School she actually requested that he be put into her class.  Bari was a beautiful lady inside and out.  I will miss her terribly.  Evan you have our deepest sympathies.

Miss Mazer (as I knew her then) was wonderful! I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She taught me Honors English for I don’t recall how many years. She was tough, but she and I became “friends” as I got to know her better. She married while I was in her class. I was so happy for her! I was very happy to catch up with her on FB recently. 
She obviously had a life well lived as she got to travel extensively. I know she was well loved. The world will not be as good of a place without her in it.

I have known Bari since 3rd grade and she was truly special. We  went all the way through school  together and she also taught my daughter at HHS.  In recent years she organized get togethers for our SVHS class ladies and it was always a pleasure to be with her.
Even when very ill she contined as my yoga classmate at the Y.  Didn't want to stay home and feel sorry for herself , she said.  I will miss her so much.

Bari and I became friends at The University of Alabama in the early 70's and continued that friendship in New Orleans.  We have spoken through the years, and Barry and Bari visited my wife, Donna, and me prior to Evan attending Rice University in Houston, Texas.  She will be missed in my home. May the Lord God Almighty have mercy on Bari, one of His loyal servants.

I enjoyed being with Bari so much! She was warm, friendly, caring, and very intelligent. We joked about her”fancy”  clothes, make-up and hair all the time. She was a devoted wife and mother and I was glad to call her my friend. May her memory be for a blessing.

She truly understood how to engage students in learning and care about our world history. Her passion and commitment to me and my fellow classmates gave me the confidence to succeed. Terribly sad news she was taken from this world. Seventeen years later and I still remember her class vividly. What a gift. My condolences to her family. She bragged on Evan when he got a job at this small search engine company back in 2003. I'll never forget it.

I just  want to say that I am so very sorry about the loss of your mother.  I met Bari on our trip around the world.   We both walked into the room on the first day and connected.  I had a wonderful 
trip with her and have many pictures of us together. We stayed connected via FB and telephone calls.   She was a wonderful person to be with.   I know she will  be greatly missed

Evan, I am so sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. 
You may remember me and my son Evan from Temple Emanuel Religious School days. 
You and your kind parents reached out to us.  (We drove  weekly from Anniston so our sons could attend Emanuel on Sunday mornings.) You and “my” Evan became fast friends with strong computer interests in common. 
Many a (Bar/Bat Mitzvah) weekend, Evan stayed with you all and attended a Bar/Bat Mitzvah service, party and then Religious School the next day. 
Your dear mother was always so friendly and welcoming.  She was a gem. 

Wow! I loved reading about her life here. As a student I didn’t know what an avid traveler she was. I would love to hear more about her travels. I always loved her style and spirit! I have certain images of her from 6th grade in my head. She always stood out. I was shocked to see this. I love the thought of all these Homewood people singing in heaven together with Mom. ❤️🙏

Loving, vivacious , an adventurist!  Three adjectives to describe  the  unforgettable Bari Roseman.  I traveled with Bari as the Expedition Leader  on her Around the World by Private Jet Expedition. She was truly in her element as we traversed the planet.... and she joined every experience - from camel riding in Jordan to snorkeling  on the Great Barrier  Reef.
Bari  was a joy to travel with., and I am so saddened with her passing. What a beautiful spirit, who I was blessed to spend  special time  with.

Bari was a wonderful friend when our sons (Russell and Chris) were in Boy Scouts together.  Also when she taught Russell.  She was always loving and kind.  She was always fun.  I will miss her!  My deepest condolences to Evan and the rest of her family!

I loved Mrs. Roseman. She taught her content very thoroughly and catered assessments to student learning styles  so that we would all perform well. For instance, my class section  never received multiple choice tests. She remade all of our tests into long hand written essay prompts after she discovered some of the people in our class did not test well using an objective format. As a teacher today, I admire her fearlessness in creating such intensive grading work for herself to do. Every day before a test we would also play history games that she made out of paper cards and dice. When we weren’t talking about history, we were talking about her son Evan, who she was so proud of attending Rice University. She had a fabulous style and frequently would wear a mink shawl or shoulder ornament. I appreciated her formality and red lipstick. She was also very disciplined about us being quiet during study hall. This was very helpful especially for those of us who had a lot of extra curricular activities, because we were able to focus and get her homework done before school was over. I’m very sorry she died so soon. She was a very bright light.

Bari was a fantastic teacher with enthusiasm and a kind spirit. She will be missed but is soaring in a place without pain.❤️

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Miss Mazer. She was my 10th grade English teacher many years ago. She was very forward thinking and creative with her teaching.  You could tell she loved being a teacher and she cared about her students. Sending prayers for peace and comfort. ❤️

Bari was a dear friend and will be missed by so many!   We taught together at Homewood High School and remained friends through the years.   Bari made everyone feel  loved and appreciated.    She always shared a positive attitude and her beautiful smile, even when faced with great challenges.   She made a difference in so many lives and will be missed.

We shared many wonderful events with Bari (and Barry ) in the Corvette Club.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of THE teacher who inspired me to become a teacher.  "Miss Mazer" as we called her, not only instructed, corrected and prepared me, but she actually cared about me.  In tenth grade English, she required us to keep a weekly journal.  I was skeptical about whether or not she read all of our journals, but I quickly learned that she not only read them, but she digested each word.  I played basketball at Homewood High School and often wrote about it in my journal.  Several times I looked into the crowd during a game and there was Miss Mazer cheering us on.  I also took piano lessons and wrote about the daily struggle of practicing.  I posted the date of my upcoming Spring recital and who showed up?  Miss Mazer!  I became a music teacher in public schools. Upon my 25th year, I invited 25 people who most influence and mentored me to be recognized at the annual Spring concert at the school where I taught.  She was the first person I called... and she came! Earth's loss is heaven's gain.  I loved "Miss Mazer" and will never forget her.  שׁלום


I knew her as Ms. Mazer and she was my favorite teacher in high school.  She made me feel like a valuable person when I was hearing the opposite from my peers.  She was a great woman and the earth is a sadder place today.

Bari was a dorm neighbor our freshman year at Alabama, and we remained good friends over the years.  She lived life with joy and love for family and friends.  I will miss her so much!  My deepest sympathies to Evan and other family, and to Scott.

Bari Roseman was not only a teacher, but a friend. She was a beautiful woman with a loving spirit, a giving heart and a kind word for me and my family every time we spoke. She had impeccable taste and always looked like she had stepped out of the latest edition of a fashion magazine. I loved her for that almost as much as I loved her selflessness in the way she gave to everyone around her. She will be missed by so many and she will be remembered by all of us! God rest your loving soul Bari and wrap your family in his loving embrace. 

Mrs. Roseman was a wonderful teacher. She truly loved her job and her students. 

This saddens me greatly.  Mrs. Roseman was an amazing & dedicated teacher - I loved working with her. She worked hard to making history come alive for her students...& she NEVER wore the same outfit twice! She & Barry were also wonderful longtime neighbors of my in-laws on Warren Road. Love to her family & friends - especially Evan.

Sorry to hear of Ms Roseman’s passing.  A great teacher and an even better person.
