

Charles Bertram Nichols, age 31, died unexpectedly December 16, 2013. Born in Arkansas, he moved with his family to Alabama in early 1984 to be with his Grandmother, Charlene Warren, in Arley, Alabama. He attended Meek School in Arley, Sumiton Elementary and Minor Elementary and High Schools in Jefferson County. He was a man of many talents. He worked as chef, supervisor, and was a good worker in a variety of other jobs. He was very intelligent and learned skills easily. He was very protective of his friends and family. He attended Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Curry and various other churches until finally finding the Lord at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. He was involved in the Jobs for Life Program at Oak Mountain. This year he found the love of his life, Brittany Thomas, and they planned to be married at the end of the year. He is survived by his fiancée, Brittany Thomas; mother, Irene E. Russ-Nichols, brothers, Stephen J. Nichols and Timothy A. Nichols; uncles and aunts, Walter and Grace (Reid) Russ, Paul, Ronnie, Arthur & Jerry Nichols, Dana (Nichols) Varnell & Rebekah (Nichols) Loggins; great uncles and aunt, Donald A. Black and David and Elizabeth (Russ) Spear.
