AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Douglas Norman Moore

19 décembre , 19824 janvier , 2020

Douglas Norman Moore was born December 19, 1982 and passed away January 4, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father Donald H. Moore and grandparents, Ben and Ruby Mitchell and Frank and Dora Meek, and is survived by his wife, Katherine Moore; his mother, Delores Moore; his brother, Grant Moore and his daughter Rebecca Moore. Douglas was employed by Jefferson County Environmental Services but when he was home, he spent his time enjoying life, doing the things he loved, like fishing crappie on Lake Purdy and picking banjo in the bluegrass scene. He also had a love for gardening and was known for the tomatoes and peppers he grew to create his signature salsas and hot sauces. Doug also liked to grill and loved to smoke ribs and chicken and anything else he could find. His friends and family remember his as a fun-loving, outgoing man who, even at a young age, had the spark of an entrepreneur because Doug never met a stranger and could make friends with anyone he came across. Most importantly, Doug loved his wife and travelling partner, Katherine, his daughter Rebecca and all of his family and friends. Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Homewood Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 513 Columbiana Rd, Homewood, AL 35209. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Doug’s name at www.jdrf.org or by calling 1-800-533-2873.

I am saddened that circumstances dictate that I will miss the memorial service for Doug. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to
you, Deloris, and Grant.

I so enjoyed having Doug around us in the troop when I was Scoutmaster. It will be a long time before his infectious smile and happy go lucky attitude is forgotten.

He shall be missed by many people. Deloris, may God grant you peace in this time of grief.

I worked at the pharmacy Doug and his family filled their prescriptions at and they were customers I loved seeing. I seen him just before New Years but it was in passing as I was with my manager but I wish I got to talk more with him. His smile was contagious and he will be surely missed.

Haven't seen Doug in years but I'll never forget the fun we had back in JROTC. Chalk another person up to the 'I wish I would have kept in touch with' list.
My prayers go out to his family and friends. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm so sad to hear this. Doug was so fun to be around in Scouts years ago. I recently connected with him on Facebook and was thrilled to see him having fun, fishing, being at the beach, etc. My thoughts are with the family, and I wish you all peace and comfort.
