Lawrence Beatty Richardson Jr.

Lawrence Beatty Richardson, Jr, age 79, of Birmingham, passed away April 26, 2015. He was born in Russellville and moved to Birmingham in 1945. He was a member, Elder, and Sunday School teacher at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Ensley High School and went on to earn a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Alabama. He was in the Army Reserves where he trained as a Medic. He started EPE (a Manufacturers Representative Distributor Company) in 1972. He was director and past officer of the Shades Valley Rotary Club (1979). He enjoyed golf at Old Overton Club and going to the fitness center at Vestavia Country Club where he served as President in 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Beatty Richardson, Sr, and Learlie Cagle Richardson. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Wanda Richardson, children, Tracy Hudson (Dan), Leigh DiSalvo (John), Beth Light (Kevin), L. Beatty Richardson III (Susan), grandchildren, Haley, Anna and Pate Hudson, Trevor Richardson Page, Madison Prokop, Mariah Light, Avery and Kate Richardson, and great grandchild, Giuliana Prokop. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church from 9:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Shades Valley Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
