Mary Ruth Jones

Mary Ruth Jones of Brookside, AL passed away April, 27, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Harrison Jones; parents, Clint & Ruby Miller; brothers Dave, L.C. & Jim Miller; grandson, John Dudley; great-grandson, Matthew Dudley and great-granddaughter, Arya Muncher. Mary is survived by her son, James(Pat) Jones; daughter Jodi(Lamar) Stewart; brother, Posey Miller; sisters, Kathleen Thomas, Annie Jo Brasfield & Ruby Turner as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary loved her family and her faith above all things. She was a member of Sharon Heights Baptist Church. Mary devoted her life to teaching her faith to children of all ages through bible verses, songs and crafts for over 63 years. She was a teacher's aide to children with special needs and part of the lunchroom staff at Brookville Elementary School. Mary was lovingly referred to as "Nannie" by many who loved her. She will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend appreciation to her caregiver Rosey Cochran for the love and compassion she has shown to Mary over the past few weeks. Services will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at Sharon Heights Baptist Church in Brookside, AL. Visitation will begin at 10 am, funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Burial will be at Bivens Chapel Cemetery.
