Mildred Thompson Nesbitt

Mildred Evelyn Thompson Nesbitt, age 90, passed away on Saturday June 9, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents Balfour and Mary Ella Thompson and granddaughter Joy Nicholette Nesbitt. She is survived by the love of her life, Sumner G. Nesbitt and her children Kathy Nesbitt Adams and Sumner (Skip) Nesbitt, Jr. (Nancie). Surviving grandchildren are Heather Adams Ellis (Will), Elizabeth Adams, Natalie Nesbitt Cambron (Daniel), Meggie Nesbitt, Sumner Nesbitt, III, and Isabelle Nesbitt; and great-grand children Andrew Ellis and Orion Ellis. Mildred loved long walks on the beach, spring flowers, the color beige, playing bridge with her friends, and the sunset on Logan Martin Lake. Although a wonderful mother, she was born to be a grandmother and introduced her grandchildren to the most wonderful adventures playing the Magic game, taking trips to the toy store, and spending long afternoons at the park. A life long member of Woodlawn Methodist church and graduate of Woodlawn High School, she was also a member of the Amulets and a charter member of the Charity League. Visitation is Monday 6-8p.m. at John Rideout's Southside with a graveside service on Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery.
