

Patty was born on January 30, 1938 to Robert and Edith Clayton in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama in 1956 she went on to study English at The University of Alabama where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and was also a Bama Belle.
Patty and her family spent 13 years in Panama City, Florida, where she was very active in social activities supporting the local community. She was a member of the Junior Service League of Panama City and leveraged her love for cooking as Chair of the Cookbook Committee which produced a widely distributed cookbook named Bay Leaves.
Patty was very competitive and was a huge Alabama football fan which she instilled into her children. After living in Panama City, her family moved to Covington, Louisiana where she developed a love for the New Orleans Saints. Her competitive spirit led her to become a Life Master Bridge player which took many years of competitions to achieve and was one of her most proud accomplishments.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Street Clayton, Jr. and loving husband of 29 years David Jackson Turner. She is survived by her children Lynn Turner Guthans, David Jackson Turner, Jr (Karla), Julie Turner Butler and Robert Clayton Turner as well as her nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Patty will be missed by her loved ones and always remembered for her beauty, style, sense of humor, and sass.
A graveside service will be held in Mobile, Alabama at Pinecrest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
