

husband and daughters on July 19, 2020. Rose Ann was born in Birmingham, Alabama,
graduated as salutatorian from Gardendale High School, and then married her high school
sweetheart, Kenneth McClure. After the birth of her third daughter, she graduated from the
University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in accounting. Rose Ann and her husband
of 49 years owned a successful, small business where she loved to work. She also enjoyed
spending time with her family, being “Nana Rose” to her precious grandson, and taking family
trips. Rose Ann was involved in McCalla Bible Church and its many ministries and was an active
volunteer in the Christian’s Place Mission at Nauvoo.
Rose Ann is survived by her husband, Kenneth McClure, her three daughters, Heather Brunson
(Brandon), Valerie McClure, and Jennifer Nix (Chris), her grandson, Levi, her sister, Leslie
Thompson (Ronny), her two brothers, James Harry and Ronald (Gladys) Douglas and her
nieces, Rhonda Baur (Chris), Kristin Lee (Tsali) and Elizabeth Douglas. She is preceded in
death by her mother, Ann Rose Douglas, and her father, Burney Ulysses Douglas.
Visitation will be held at Johns-Ridout’s, Birmingham, on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 4:00 to
6:00 pm followed by the service at 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Southern
Heritage Cemetery, Pelham, on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, please
