Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home, (www.zarrofuneralhome.net), 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield on Thursday, April 4rd, at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Newark. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be appreciated to , Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834 or St. Francis Xavier Elevator Fund, 243 Abington Ave., Newark, NJ 07107.

Filomena was born in Cosenza, Italy and came to the United States in 1950. She has resided in North Newark for the past 62 years. She worked as a saleswoman for Lynn’s Department Store in Newark for 12 years.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Concetta Brock and her husband, Walter and Pasquale Pontoriero and his wife, Anna; cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Anthony Pontoriero. She was predeceased by her husband, Agostino Pontoriero; parents, Lucia ( Montalto) and Francesco LaValle; siblings, Guiseppe, Antoinette, Cosmo and Lina.
