

Patrick Zicaro, 73, of Bloomfield formerly of the Silver Lake Section of Belleville, passed away on May 25th. He served twenty plus years in the US Army, retiring in 1991 as a master sergeant. He served most of his military time with the US Army Special Forces (Green Berets). His tours included, Viet Nam, Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Central and South America, Africa and the Middle East. He received over 30 military awards to include the Silver Star, Bronze Star with “ V” device, meritorious service medal Viet Namese Cross of Gallantry, Viet Namese medal of honor, Master Parachutese Badge plus over 15 other awards. After retiring he was very active with the American Legion Post #299 helping other veterans and senior citizens of his community in receiving V A and Social Security Benefits. He also was an Essex County Sheriff Officer. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 4-8pm . Kindly be at the funeral home on Thursday, June 1st by 9am followed by a mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:30 am.
Pat is survived by his loving sister-in-law, Carol Zicaro; a host of many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Mildred ( Rotunda) and Angelo Zicaro and his brothers, Domenick and Charles Zicaro.
