Silvana C. Megaro

Silvana was born in Caracas, Venezuela to the late Antonio Gerardo Megaro and Maria G Parisi Megaro, before moving to Newark, NJ in 1970. She graduated from Barringer High School and Rutgers University, living in Newark until she moved to Bloomfield, NJ where she raised her children. She most recently worked for the Department of Treasury in Parsippany, NJ.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home, 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield, NJ (www.zarrofuneralhome.net), on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 9:00 am followed by a mass at 10:30am at St Lucy’s Church in Newark. The burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will be 5-9pm on Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Silvana is survived by her loving and devoted children, Raffaele Lagonigro and his wife Taryn and Maria Alessandra Lauricella and her husband Luca; beloved grandchildren, Sofia and Layla Lagonigro, and a child to be born to Maria and Luca in Fall 2016; dear brothers, Vincenzo Megaro and Giuseppe Megaro; dear sister, Rosa Megaro; beloved niece and caretaker Pina Megaro. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless cherished friends. Silvana was predeceased by her brother, Generoso Megaro.
