She was born on February 13, 1931, one of 9 children of Marguerite and William Dougherty.
She was the oldest girl and was raised in Phoenix, Arizona where she graduated from Xavier
Catholic Girls HS. It was in Phoenix that Alice met her husband of 65 years, Dominic, with
whom she raised 3 children, Angela, Tom and Lou.
Alice and Dominic moved to Fontana, CA in 1960 where she was busy raising a young family.
With her three children still in elementary school, Alice decided to pursue her dream of going to
college. Alice attended Chaffey Community College and then went on to Cal Poly Pomona
where she graduated in 1972 and became an educator. Alice taught 2nd grade at Maple
Elementary in Fontana for 19 years and was a substitute teacher for an additional 10 years
after she retired.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic, both of her parents and 7 of her
siblings: Conway, Forest, Maxine, Loretta, Kathleen, Tony and Sharon and her son, Thomas
(Tom) Patrone.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Al Wright; her son and
daughter-in-law, Louis and Maria Patrone; 3 grandchildren, Richard Wright (Emily), Alicen
Wright and Dominic Patrone and her lone surviving sibling, Bernard (Carol).
Alice will be laid to rest at Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington, CA at a graveside
service.
Our mother, grandmother and friend Alice lived a very long, wonderful and blessed life. Her
family and all of her friends as well as her treasured family community at Inland Christian
Home will miss her deeply.
