Wow, I'm very sadden to see that Cheryl had passed away.  I had no idea.  I met Cheryl at a vendor event as she sold Wildteee and I was also a vendor. I'm sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Wow, cheryl and i grew up together, we shared a lot, especially our love for bobby sherman. We spent weekends together, but out of high school, we lost touch. we just found each other again on FB and before we could catch up ( i didnt realize cheryl was so ill) she passed. We were so sorry to hear about Cheryl...she joined my Wildtree sales team in MA many years ago and was always so passionate about helping others eat healthy. Sometimes I'd have to reign her in when she got overly enthusiastic (smile) but she was a pleasure to work with and became a dear friend.  She visited our home several times and she never came in the door without bringing little gifts for me and my husband. She was a very giving lady. She loved getting together with the team, and enjoyed working our booth at the Big E.  This picture was taken in 2008 in Cleveland at one of our conferences. We were so sorry when her health issues caused her to move back to CA, but she was looking forward to seeing her family. She kept in touch with email, Facebook and phone calls, as recently as a few months ago. Her MA friends and her Wildree team family will miss her smile, and extend our sincere condolances to the Meek family.

Dear Cheryl - You have been such a dear friend, though I have only known you since your return to California. We have shared lots of laughs and tears and I feel truly blessed to have known you. I have another favor to ask of you.  My brother, David is there with you and would really enjoy your company and some laughs.  You will find him playing a violin.

I am so sad to hear of Cheryl's passing, I too, met her through Freecycle and we served as Admins together helping out folk all around the Springfield Area.  She will be missed, prayers to her family from mine

We were sad to hear of Cheryl's passing, especially too young. We knew her through her daughter, Jessica. One of Jessica's favorite things to talk of is her "Mom". Her friends and family have written such nice entries in this guest book about Cheryl, they were touching to read. Our condolences to her family and loved ones.

To Carl and Marilyne Meek, My name is Michael Stewart, I wanted to say how "Sorry I am to hear that Cheryl passed away I believe that she is in a better place now, I knew her when she lived in Bloomington CA on Taylor, she was a very humble person and always put a smile on everyone's face, trust me she put a smile on mine and I count it an honor to have been able to know her. I wish I could have been around to see her more before she passed, I currently still live in Bloomington off of valley and cedar, take care in this time of remorse over the lose of such a great person, once again take care God bless. 

Michael Lawrence Stewart

I met Cheryl by chance in Springfield, MA and we became friends. She was a wonderful woman and great friend. She always went out of her way to help others. I had hoped to see her when I visit Cali in Aug as we discussed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her two daughters, brother, mom, dad, and other family members. I will miss her dearly. You can finally rest Cheryl.

I am very sad to hear of Cheryl's passing. She will always remain part of some of my fondest memories.  I attended my very first concert with her back in 1978. The Bee Gees! I will always think of her when I listen to their music.

Even though I moved away from Bloomington to Northern California after high school, Cheryl and I kept in contact for years. When she was in the Navy we would get together when her ship came in to the Port of San Francisco. It was an amazing sight seeing her ship sail in beneath the Golden Gate with all of the sailors standing at attention. One time she got permission to take me aboard for a tour.

If she had a few days or a week of free time, she would spend it with me and my family. She and my mother got along real well. If I had to work, Cheryl had no problem spending time with my mom. My mom left this earth many years ago now. Maybe Cheryl will meet her again. And I know Cheryl will not have forgotten her. She was like that. To her, a friend was forever.

When I think of Cheryl I remember a kind and caring woman.She always had a smile and a good word.Her life was short but full of love.

I only knew you a short time when we met thru freecycle but I have visited with your doing funtions to better the environment. It sure was a pleasure getting to know you and seeing how much you care for others.

i was so saddened to hear of cheryl's passing. freecycle sent me the notice visa email.  i did not know her well, but i had the pleasure of meeting her on the springfield freecycle website. she often offered me coupons and excess "free" items, and i would come by her house to recieve them! she was so giving and caring, and she will be grealtly missed by all she helped.

So many nice wonderful entries about Cheryl.  She made you feel like you were the most important person in her life when you saw her.  She always remembered to ask about things that you had previously talked about each time you saw her.  She was sweet and nice.  She contacted me when she moved to CA.  I am so sorry for her loss at such a young age.  My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Cheryl was unique.  She had lots of energy to meet people and make good use of items that came into her life, by getting them to places where they could be enjoyed.  She was generous and had more energy than most people whom I have met.  Always full of ideas and actions, I met her and Dar through freecycle too.  Cheryl tried to help others, and was inclusive of new and old friends and family in her life.  I think that she lived a lifetime in the years that she was alive.  I feel that she is still active somewhere, making connections with souls and spirits.  She really tried hard.  I have tears in my eyes now because of how she brought me into her life for awhile.  She was a never ending ball of energy.  Quiet now, her friendly spirit still reverberates in us.  Cheryl, I appreciate and love you; and know that you will still be looking after us, even though you have moved on.

I usually compose a poetic eulogy for departed friends and relatives but the words do not come to me for Cher. When first we met we tried to find a path to our relationship due to the fact that I have relatives in one of the MEEK family trees. We both struggled and could not find such a path. Cher and I determined that the closest path would be one of best friends and that remains even today because I firmly believe that when a person passes from this earth into the eternal one we are still best friends. Cher has passed away but not gone. No one is gone until forgotten. Cher, along with many of my friends although no longer living are not forgotten.

im so sorry to hear about cheryl she was such a loving person i met her about 8 months ago when she moved in where i work i became close to her she was like a aunt to me .she taught me many things ,always made me laugh and we also had a few crys .i love you and miss u already ........much love and respect amber green

I met Cheryl about 5 years ago through Springfield Recycle. We became friends from the start. I remember her always making me laugh with her funny stories.She had a heart bigger than anyone I've ever met. Always helping someone in need and going out her way to put a smile on someones face.

Cheryl was a very giving person. She did so much for so many. With never asking for anything in return. She was truely a kind person without conditions. You will be so very missed. But the angels have decided that they need you. My condolences to the family.

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of someone who sounds like such a good person. Although I never met Cheryl I also have lost a number of wonderful sweet people and it is obvious from the entries I've read that Cheryl was also one of these people. My sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones. Rest easy though, she is in a much better place.

Cheryl was a warm caring person who touched many many lives as moderator in the group Springfield Freecycle. She is dearly missed.

  "I met Cheryl eleven years ago, and Cheryl lived with me for about 8 of those years.  Throughout the years, Cheryl was very supportive while I was going through a difficult time with my failing mother.  Cheryl would always go with me to the Nursing Home to try to brighten up the day for me and Mom.  She was a real "people person", was always there to help anyone in need, had a heart of gold and gave her love freely without wanting anything in return.  

   As moderator of the Springfield Freecycle program, she was able to organize a group of people to help purchase & wrap Christmas presents for the numerous needy families & children in the Springfield area.   Whenever someone would say "I could really use or need a particular item", Cheryl's answer was "let me see what I can do".    

  I remember Cheryl's favorite response to me, with that special sense of humor she possessed was, "But Dar, I'm a work in progress".  

   In spite of your physical struggles, Cheryl,  you had the perseverance to keep on going.          

   Yes, Cheryl, I will carry with me many fond memories, including vacations together, your family reunion in California several years ago, and the many good times with my family and friends.

   May you rest in the arms of the Angels, My Dear Friend."

Cheryl was an incredible woman with a heart of gold.  She loved with every ounce of her being and was the most thoughtful person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  We had several great years in Massachusetts with lots of memories stored in my heart.  The world will not be the same without your inner beauty shining out like a beacon drawing people to you.  I love you more than you will ever know and my heart is so sad knowing we will never speak again.  May God protect you as you find a peaceful place to spend eternity.
