Debbie Susanne Faris Bryant was my best friend and sister. 
We weren't blood sisters, but sisters in every aspect of the word other then DNA.

Our first sleep over as children was in the nursery ward of Daniel Freeman Hospital in Inglewood, California the day she was born July 13, 1963. Thirty three hours after I came into the world I had a best friend for life.

Debbie had a love for many things. The few things personally I knew of was her favorite color was red, favorite flower was a rose, favorite artist was Michael Jackson and favorite music was the 1970's and Disco. 

She also shared an obsession with me for thrillers and horror movies. We loved to go to the movies and get scared, scream and then turn and laugh at each other. 

She had a passion for cross stitch, animals and photography. She collected Wizard of Oz and Coca Cola memorabilia and magnets from every place she visited or traveled. She even had friends that would help add to her collection which covered her refrigerator completely. 

She really didn't care for cooking but she did love to bake. When I came over to visit she may not have had the stuff to make dinner but we could certainly bake a cake or a couple dozen cookies. 
Debbie was so sweet she baked seven dozen diamond ring sugar cookies with white chocolate diamonds for favors to give to my wedding guests.

I never took my friendship with Debbie for granted. I always knew she was a blessing to have in my life. We always hugged, and said we loved each other. I told her many times how much she meant to me. So I have no regrets of, "I only wish I would have told her this or said that".
She knew my heart. 

But I have to say, over the past few weeks of corresponding over the internet with so many people that Debbie's life has touched all over the world. People mentioning they never met her face to face but felt close to her from her kindness and giving heart she shared with everyone. 

I was truly moved, but certainly not surprised. 

Debbie was a bright light on a foggy morning. 

Somewhere, over the rainbow, Debbie sits on a big fluffy cloud, taking pictures, baking cookies for all the new arrivals, while listening to Michael Jackson serenade her. 

Debbie, if your listening, look in on us from time to time. 

After all, all you have to do is click your heels three times and say "there's no place like home".

I love you Debbie.

I was catching up on my Blog RSS feeds when I read the news. I thought NO! this can't be the same Debbie who encouraged me on my needlework blog. But when I googled her name, my heart sank it was my on-line friend "SoCal Debbie". Rest in peace Deb, I and the needlework blog community will miss you deeply.

This lovely lady ordered a magazine for me , had it sent to her home and then sent it to me in England because I couldn't get it here .      She always went far beyond just helping - fantastic person and I felt like I knew her closer than some friends .      She is safe , my thoughts are with those left behind - God bless you . X

Sending thoughts and prayers to the Faris-Bryant Family.  Although Debbie and I were not close, we do share a special bond. All of us kids met in 1980, we were uprooted from our childhood neighborhoods and brought the Riverside to start new chapters in our lives. No matter how far apart we are, no matter what are circumstances are, we have a bond that cannot be broken. The years may have separated us but the love and care for one another does not need distance. I feel blessed that you were a part of the new journey back in 1980. You will be missed by so many.

I "met" Debbie online through the world of cross stitch blogs.  We exchanged many emails and comments over the last couple of years and I regarded her as a good stitching friend.
It seems like everywhere I look her name is popping up to remind me of how she touched so many lives and made them brighter as a result.
Her nickname was SoCal Debbie which I always read as "Social Debbie", something which really sums up her personality.
You will be missed Debbie, rest in peace.

Deborah was a member of my cross stitch groups on Facebook, and although i never knew her personally i felt i did know her through her posts and photos of her stitching. She will be remembered and missed buy our large stitching family. Toni Ball (UK)

I had the privilege of working with Debbie for about 8 years.  She was a sweet woman with a good sense of humor and fun to work with. I can't believe you have passed on, sweet friend.  I will never forget you.  I pray for your children and parents, hoping for love to surround them now during this hard time. May you find peace knowing that God hears your prayers, and He will comfort those who seek Him.

Debbie shared her talents brought joy to many with her stitching. Her giving spirit lives on in the many lives she touched.

thanks to a little thing called the internet, Debbie was able to touch so many lives all over the world with her blog, her online groups and chats.  I am glad Debbie found her way to The World of Charity Stitching group as she sent many beautiful pieces in that were made into quilts for our charities.  Thank You for sharing your stitching talent and your beautiful smile.

I didn't know Debbie personally, but met her through our group, World of Charity Stitching.  She really enjoyed cross stitching and sharing her special gift with others.  I know she will be missed by her close friends and her family.  Rest In Peace Debbie.

Although I never met Debbie, we were friends and I very much enjoyed our email chats.  She produced beautiful stitching and was already ready to give help and advice when she could.  I will miss her fun and bubbly personality.  My thoughts and love are with all of her family and friends at this desperately sad time.

Dear Debbie's family,  I know your hearts are heavy.  The loss of a parent is profound, no matter your age.  You know that she loved you, but I know it too because I have seen the works of art she created with her stitching for you. 

Those of us who knew her from the various stitching groups will miss her.

She lives within you and will always be with you.

I have enjoy the work she has shared with us. She was a good stitchery and she will be missed by all who knew her on a personal level and cross stitcher member. Her family is in my prayers.

 The pictures were a great comfort to me. And brought back some great memories. Christopher looks so much like Don and Christina has her Moms smile. I love you and wish I could be there.

Although I live on the other side of the world, and we never met, Debbie became a friend though the power of our love of cross stitching and reading about it in other people's blogs. I am heart-hurt over this loss because Debbie was one of nicest, most generous people I knew.

She didn't know me and I didn't know her except through our love of cross stitching as we shared several Facebook groups. Deborah was my dear close online stitching buddy for years.  Her and I were very close to one another and we was constantly emailing each other all of the time.  In fact she emailed me two days before she had her heart attack.  She also helped me with getting some threads that I needed and she sent them to me.  Deborah was a super fantastic fast stitcher and I always loved reading her Blog about her Stitching Progress.  I am really sorry for your loss and I am going to really miss my Stitching Buddy!.  May you R. I. P. Deborah.  See you up in Heaven my friend!  Stitch Away up in Heaven!  The  family is in my prayers and thoughts.
