Emma V. Cancino

She was born on October 18, 1930 in San Bernardino, California.

She graduated from Colton Union High School in June 1949. She married Henry J. Cancino on June 19, 1950. After raising three daughters and a son with Henry, she decided to go to college.

She attended Chaffey Junior College in Rancho Cucamonga and received an A.S. degree (Registered Dental Assistant) in June of 1973.

She worked at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in the DAU (Dental Assistant Unit) for 22 years. Her first job there was as a Dental Assistant, later she became a vital part of the administrative team as Coordinator of the DAU supervising and training the dental assistants and dental students. She retired at the age of 65 in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tirso and Maria Valdivia, her siblings, Frank, Christina and Tirso Jr. and her husband, Henry J. Cancino.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Hohmann (Tom) of Granada Hills, Cyndi Wyatt (Richard) of Fontana, Teri Cancino of Fontana and her son Rick Cancino (Debbie) of Riverside; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
