

Age 60, of Highland, Ca., peacefully returned home to the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2015. Mr. Braggs, the son of the late Odis Bennett Braggs and Edna Parker Braggs, was born September 11, 1954, in Fontana, Ca. He was a member of Ecclesia Christian Fellowship Church, and had attended several churches in the area. Mr. Braggs attended and graduated from the University of Redlands, in Redlands, Ca. A respected educator, he served San Bernardino County for nearly forty years as a middle school teacher, counselor and administrator. Mr. Braggs was the principal of Eisenhower high school from1998 - 2002. He was passionate about the academic success of all students. He later became the director of Child Welfare and Attendance for the Rialto Unified School District. He is also remembered for his athletic ability, as he played for his high school and college football and wrestling teams. He was also an athletic coach at San Bernardino Valley College and Eisenhower High School. Mr. Braggs was a recipient of the Kenny Hubbs award. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Walter and Ronnie Lee, who died at birth, and two sisters, JoAnne Roy and Betty Braggs. Mr. Braggs is survived by his wife of over 32 years Sylvia Taylor Braggs, daughter, Daphne Cook of Nebraska, son, Emil Lewis, Jr., of Rancho Cucamonga, daughter, Genevieve Lewis of Fontana, daughter, Danielle Braggs of Highland and son, Eric Braggs of Oakland, Ca.; grandchildren, KeeAira Meeds, Tiana Lewis, Mya-Lin Lewis, Kyra Cook, Kevin Cook, Daniel Cook, Christian Gutierrez and Alexander Braggs and great-granddaughter Amy Meeds. He is also survived by three brothers, James (Sheila), Ronald (Printella), Glenn (Cindy), and Cecil; and five sisters Bernetta DeBald, Linda Braggs, Deborah Johnson, Brenda Gray and Patricia Braggs, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
