life. He is survived by his father Angel, siblings Marian, Matthew and bonus brother Richard and his beloved son, Brandon.
At a young age, Gabriel’s passion for football was born. As a kid he enjoyed playing in our family’s then annual “Turkey Bowl”, playing on the Pomona Steelers, and cheering on his cousins on the Riverside Rams. In high school, he lived for the Friday Night Lights with the Garey High Vikings! Go #55!! He was a lifelong diehard Dallas Cowboys and Florida State Seminole fan! He watched them both religiously. In 2008, he went on a roadtrip with his father, sister and brother to see the Dallas Cowboys play against their rival the San Francisco 49ers at Texas Stadium before it was retired. In 2015, he attended the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on New Year’s Day, to watch the Florida State Seminole versus the Oregon Ducks. He also made it a tradition to take time off work to watch the NFL draft every year.
Gabriel’s interests included attending car shows, shooting guns, playing video games and watching pro wrestling. He enjoyed spending late nights attending concerts with his friends and sister and having dinner at Hot Wings Cafe in Pasadena or Lucille’s BBQ. He would consider himself a Sneaker-head and enjoyed collecting hats. He liked all animals but loved his cats the most.
Gabriel was not only a wonderful friend to all of us, but an amazing and loving father to Brandon. Being his father was his greatest joy in life. He valued and cherished every moment he was able to spend with him, seeing him grow and viewing life through his eyes. He look forward to the day he would be able to have a beer with his son when he turned 21, which he accomplished a few weeks prior to his passing. He had a tendency of writing important information that needed to be followed-up on his left hand, which is where he chose to place is first tattoo. A reminder that he was Brandon’s Hero.
In his 41 years he touched so many lives and incited love, laughter and so much joy. His smile was huge and infectious and his hugs were always heartfelt and genuine. He is deeply missed but his legacy will continue through the memories of his family and friends.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.greenacresmortuary.com for the Flores family.
