

He was born September 30, 1933 to James Corbitt and Susan Landers in Lindale, TX where he grew up.
Anxiously to serve his country and to escape deep poverty of his childhood, he joined the Air Force in 1951. There served as air police, with Honorable Discharge in 1959. He received recognitions of the Korea Service Medal, United Nation Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal.
He lived most of his life in California until the last two years when he moved to Iowa to be closer to his children.
Throughout Howard’s career he worked at car dealerships as a service writer. He was a life time member of the Elk’s. He enjoyed gambling, bowling, traveling and his family.
He is survived by his son, Robert (Linda) Corbitt, daughter Angelia (Lloyd) Robbins, grandchildren Laura (Chance) Breckenridge, Tom (Rebecca) Corbitt, great grandchildren Reese, Nolan, and Jacob Breckenridge, expecting another one due in July, sister Peggy Kelley and many nieces and nephews.
Proceed in death by his parents, nine siblings, and his sons Gerald Corbitt and Brian Corbitt.
