

Jesse James Scott Sr. was born on January 5th,1956 in Arkansas to Laura B Bridges and Isaac John Scott. Jesse Sr. had six siblings: Isaac Earl Scott, Carrie Louise Scott, Sammy Lee Scott, Mary Lenora Quintilla Scott-Glover, Cynthia Susanne Scott-Rester, and Ray Charles Scott. The Scott family was taught the meaning of family at an early age and the siblings grew up with so much love and support for each other. Jesse Sr. was taught the meaning of hard work as a young man growing up in the south.
Tragedy stuck the Scott family a few years later, they lost the matriarch of the family when Jesse Sr. was around eleven years old. Jesse was devested when he lost his mother because he was close to his mother, but with losing his mother, him and his siblings went to live with grandparents. Living with his grandparents Jesse grew very close to his grandmother Gertrude Bridges affectionately known as “Big Momma”. During his time with Big Momma, she taught Jesse Sr. and his siblings learned about God and how to always put God first.
As a young man Jesse Sr. enjoyed fishing, sports, hanging out with his two best friends Nilon Moore and Gordon Kidd, oh let’s not forget he enjoyed always looking his best! While visiting a local high in Arkansas to set up the stage for a Christmas play he met the love of his life Poeet LaFrance Traylor, he tried to get her attention by using a few “choice words” but it didn’t work. Some time later Poeet and Jesse were properly introduced by Poeet’s cousin which happened to be Jesse’s friend Suzette. From that moment on the two would spend the rest od their lives together all the up to Jesse’s last breathe.
Jesse Sr. and Poeet Scott were together for forty-seven years, where they moved to California and set out to live the American dream through hard work and loving his family there was many family trips, celebrations of birthdays and holidays, as well as home ownership. The couple welcomed four children together: twins (deceased) Jesse and James DeLawrence Scott, LaShondia Scott, and Jesse James Scott Jr (Andrea Michelle Scott). The couple was fortunate to have four grandchildren: Jasmine Lynette Jeffries, Aniessa Laura Jeffries, Jesse James Scott III, and Allison Michelle Scott. And lastly, the couple was blessed to have a great granddaughter named Saige Amayiah-Verna Jeffries.
Jesse Sr. loved to caravan home to Arkansas to visit family and friends in the summertime, he shared a love for restoring cars with his brother-in-law and from that he showed his children and granddaughters how to work on cars. He also loved relaxing and watching sports with his daughter which college basketball would be their favorite to watch. His favorite thing in this world was is grandchildren and his only great granddaughter, he would always teach his older granddaughters how to be strong independent young ladies and he would just love on his younger grandchildren. His great-granddaughter was blessed to have her PAWPAW in her life for six month, those six month he enjoyed loving on her kissing her on her forehead and placing her on his stomach where she would just laugh in pure joy.
On March 20,2023, after a long battle with multiple illnesses Jesse Sr. affectionately known as PawPaw lost his battle to organ failure. Pawpaw was surrounded by his wife and children when he was called to the lord. Jesse Sr. was a big teddy bear and a great soul loved by many and went by many different names PawPaw, Dad, Big Boy, Uncle, Brother and whichever name you call him he will be truly missed. You are forever loved Jesse James Scott Sr…
In his transition he is preceded by his parents Laura B and Isaac Scott, his twins: Jesse and James Scott, his brothers: Isaac Scott, Sammy Scott, Ray Scott, his sister in law: Dana Palacio, and many more family members.
Jesse Sr. leaves behind to mourn and celebrate his life: his wife Poeet Traylor-Scott, his daughter LaShondia Scott, his son and daughter-in-law Jesse Jr. and Andrea Scott, four grandchildren Jasmine and Aniessa Jeffries Jesse III and Allison Scott, one great granddaughter Saige Jeffries, Mother in law Shirley Faye Traylor, three sisters Carrie Scott Mary Glover and Cynthia Scott Rester, two sister in laws Carol Dampeer and Kimberly Faison, five brother in laws Anthony Glover Morris Brown Wendell Traylor Gregory Traylor and Joseph LeDay. Jesse leaves behinds a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends that will always cherish the good memories of him.
