Juan Barajas Rocha was born May 15, 1957 at 3:30 am in Colonia Rodriguez, Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. He was born to Santiago Barajas, a ranch worker, and Maria De Los Angeles Rocha, a homemaker. He was the oldest of seven children. He had four brothers and two sisters. Juan passed away at the age of 68 on September 26, 2025 at 5:35 a.m.
Juan will always be remembered by his family and friends as a hard worker and as a person who loved his family. His legacy will continue to live through all those he cared for and mentored.
Juan met Virginia Rodriguez in 1976 and they dated for three months prior to their engagement. They would go on to be married a year and a half later in 1978. Together they started a business in 1985 and it persisted through difficult and prosperous times. They remained married for 47 years until his death.
Juan and Virginia had two sons, Juan Junior and Michael. Juan was blessed with 7 grandchildren. Gavin, Aliyah, Elaine, Channel, Sadie, Amelia, and Ezra. He loved his grandchildren, and they loved their grandpa.
Juan loved to spend time with his family, going to baseball games together, playing sports, eating out, and cooking for them at home on Sunday afternoons.
He loved his extended family as well. He would listen, advise, and help. He loved to serve in the church through ministering and missionary work. In recent years he and Virginia served the Sierra and Juniper Wards of the Fontana, CA Stake, consistently visiting many households each week.
Juan was outgoing and frequently approached random individuals. He formed long lasting friendships through his sincerity and openness. He loved to dance, play golf, and cycle long distances.
Juan helped to build Southern California and beyond. There are hundreds of carefully crafted dump trucks on the road today that he built over the span of 40 years. Juan took great pride in providing quality products and the trucking community took notice.
He will be missed by his family, brothers and sisters of the church, business associates, golfing and cycling buddies, and all who called him a friend. His diligence, determination, and love are not destroyed in death, but continue into eternity. He joins those who have passed through the veil to celebrate and waits to be joyfully reunited with those he loves. Until we meet again.
