Mom always wanted to come back home and play in the snow and make a snowman. One year she got her wish. She came out for her vacation during our winter when we had a big snow storm. She was like a child in a candy store. She couldn't wait to go out side and play. We built that snowman to mom's specifications. Top hat, arms, the whole works. After that she wanted to ride the back roads and bust the snow drifts and get out to see how deep the snow was. She had a ball, she said this was the best vacation ever. She was looking forward to comping back this Christmas to make another snowman and snow angel for one last time. She asked for snow and got her request, but she was unable to make it back. Thank you Mom for all the good times and memories you left for me.
- Love you always, your son Roger
Momma loved th hear me and my sister banter back and forth and try to get her to pick a side. I would use my ace card " I'm the baby!" She would just smile.

Growing up I believed my granny was invincible, she beat everything that was thrown at her. The great depression, sickness, the death of others. All this had nothing on her. Later on in years she proved she was truly unbreakable to me. At the very end it took an act of nature to take her. In the final hours it was not that she was beaten, she just agreed to go with God still unbreakable.

I didn't know granny for lo9ng, but I loved her very much. Didn't matter who you were, you could call her granny. Anytime I saw her she was always doing her puzzles. The last time I saw her and spent time with her we did a puzzle together. Granny will be remembered by all.

Maxine loved Roses. She always had a garden with every color of rose you could think of. We came out to see her one year and I was walking through her rose garden being careful not t get stuck with the thorns. I came to a beautiful rose, it had the most deepest and brilliant color I had ever seen. I asked Maxine what kind of rose it was. She replied, "thorn less." I thought, duh... I had to laugh. She will be missed more than anyone will ever know.

Went to an auction with mom one time and we bought a few things, (a truck load) and when the auction was over I l pulled my truck to the back of the building to load up. Before I could load up, I had to get my tickets for the things we bought. By the time I got back she had most of it loaded up. I told her Boy! Wouldn't want to work next to you all day, you'd ware me out. She laughed, "it's not that much!"

One time Mom called me to see what my wife and I were up to. She got no answer and left a message. She thought we went camping. We usually go about this time of year. We were on our way to pay her a surprise visit for Thanksgiving. I stopped a couple hours down from her and called her on my cell phone. I told her I had checked our messages and heard she left a message. I asked if she needed anything special. She said no. Meanwhile, I was at her front porch still talking on the phone and started pounding on the door. She said, "Someone is trying to break the door down!" I told her, "Oh, it's probably someone trying to sell you something." I started pounding on the door again and told her to go see who it was. She opened the door still talking on the phone and I asked her, "Is it anyone you know?" She was still talking on the phone and answered, "Why, yes" with a big smile on her face. She had no idea we were coming out. It was a great surprise and the best Thanksgiving in a long time. We'll see your smiling face again Mom.
- Love you, Roger
Mama was superstitious and if a black cat crossed her path she would make you back up and go another way. She wouldn't let you open up an umbrella in the house or walk under a ladder. If she spilled salt, she would throw salt over her shoulder. We will miss your superstitions.
- Love, Carole
