Mary “Jean” Hulett, 94, of Longview, TX peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in her home. Jean was born on December 10, 1929 in Salem, Missouri to Lawrence and Bessie Beiswinger. After graduating from Salem High School she spent many years in Southern California as a homemaker. Sewing, knitting, and crocheting were her hobbies and proved very useful in making outfits for her daughters and grandchildren. After her husband, John, retired from Union Pacific they traveled and eventually settled in Longview, Texas. She was predeceased by John in 2019 and her daughter, Linda, in 2002. Her daughter, Sue Bleakley, survives her as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Following the funeral Jean will be interred at Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington,CA on April 27.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Visiting Angels for their companionship and care over her last years. Special love and appreciation for her dear neighbor, BJ Dalton, and for Dean and Jackie Rivard, her “Texas son and daughter”. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Jean Hulett.
