Grandpa , God could not have given me a better grandfather you were a patient kind and generous man even when I've been a big pain in your butt I will miss your smile your voice and most of all your laughter and because of you and Grandma I got the most amazing mother and aunts thank you for the wonderful memories and all the love I will miss you dearly and make sure you go fishing while you're up there give grandma a kiss love you


Feeling emotional today .

A very special person is in heaven, my Husband's Grandfather. It was an honor to have known him for 13 years. He is a man always full of joy, laughs and a head full of great knowledge. He seemed to always put a smile on my face no matter what. I'll always remember the wonderful memories such as going to the casino with him, his great cooking, and having picnics down at the lake in Whiskeytown and many more!!!!! Lucas of course will miss all the lap rides he got on his little scooter. Lucas always brags about his Grandpa Roy being 94 to people that don't even know him just because he's proud to have him in his life. What a blessing it's been. R.I.P Grandpa Roy. He will always be with us!

Grandpa we will miss you so much, One my best memories is you walking me down the isle.  You were the best grandpa anyone could ever ask for. Give grandma Janet a hug and a kiss from me. Love with all my heart, Janet.

G-Pa Roy was an AMAZING mentor, teacher and Pinochle partner. His willfulness, firm tenacity, and wonderful characteristics will no doubt live on in future generations to come. Lets face it stubbornness is wedged firmly in his family, and we wouldn't have it any other way. ;)  
I always enjoyed his stories, his company and his seafood STEW!  I will cherish FOREVER his sense of adventure wherever I go, and celebrate his LIFE proudly through mine.  I will deeply miss him, but I am very, VERY honored, and happy to have been able to call him my friend. Until we meet again you card counting shark! Love you always my friend.

Grandpa cherished family above all else. He celebrated each graduation, wedding, and birth in the family as if it were the first. He proudly displayed pictures of those dearest to him on his refrigerator; it was always our goal to see our own pictures there as children.

Grandpa was also tender and kind. He worried over Grandma and gently reminded her to take time to rest. He cared a lot and always wanted what was best for us all. 

He'll be truly missed.

Grandpa, I will never forget all the cherished memories of our time spent with you and grandma as a child. I remember Janet and I waiting for you to come home from work so we could sit on your lap and hear stories and watch TV with you. Family Fued and the Newly Wed game. Christmas eve gatherings with the whole family, grandma's apples every year on the tree, so I got me some apples too! I love you and grandma very much, but I am happy that you both are now reunited in the afterlife. I will always cherish the love you gave me.

Dear Grandpa, I love you so much and will miss you dearly. I was so fortunate  to have you for so long. I treasure the times we had together.  I loved the fishing trips, camping  on the beach and especially the time I meet you and grandma Evelyn in Michigan, meeting family and your best friend. The trip back was also amazing, going through Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore  and other great places. Thank you for a life of love and memories, I only hope to be as great a grandfather as you.

Our family lost a great man, but heaven gained one. My grandfather was loved by everyone he met. He was a friend to all and cared deeply for his family. While each of his 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren and all the way down to his great great grandchildren and everyone in between, have different favorite memories of him, mine include going out on his boat, learning to playing cribbage and skunking him once, living most of my childhood summers with him- because I could, and taking a cross-country road trip with he and my grandmother in their motor home. Living to the ripe old age of 94 provided him a world of memories but his favorites always included his family. Until we meet again...I love you grandpa!

You made me a part of your family.  Loved me unconditionally. Walked me down the isle on my wedding day.  So may precious memories I will have to hold close in the coming years.  You effected my life more than you knew.  Thank you for being the dad I never had.  The hole in my  heart will remain, no one else can fill, but sweet memories can.

Roy, you were the father figure I never had. Your integrity and honesty and love for family and friends is what you will be remembered for. You leave this world with honor and dignity.You are truly missed.

We've enjoyed all the times that we spent with you and grandma in Califonia and all the phone conversations we've had over the years. We had such a great time in Hawaii together.  And we are so glad that you came into our lives and know that you've meant the world to us.  Thinking of you always.  Love and miss you.

Dad I want to thank you for all the wonderful memories through out the years.  All the hugs and smiles.  The trips we took as a family.  My time I had with you fishing.  Even the time you tied me to a tree so I would not fall in the river but I still caught the biggest fish!  I loved all my Thursday nights in Redding when you cooked dinner and we played cards.  I am so happy I had so much time with you!  I love you and will miss you!  Linda

Uncle Roy will be missed.  He & Grandma talked every Sunday afternoon.  She said she just can't quit crying.  
Uncle Roy was the youngest of 8. He was 10 when his Dad died.  Served in  WWII. 
Took his young family west for warmer weather. Was famous for his fish soup. Believed his mothers prayers brought him home from the war & loved attending worship on Sunday. Loved camping & fishing (made his own flies) & cooking. Always wanted company....a good host!

Roy was the epitome of the greatest generation.  He learned the value of hard work and the importance of trusting the Lord during the depression.  He paid the cost for our freedom during the war and developed the capacity to be a team player.  In the 50's he gave priority to his family, putting in long hours and extra miles to be sure they were provided for.  He still made the time to keep his marriage fresh and to be a dad to the girls. 
He taught me that retirement is more than getting old; He wrote a second chapter to his life with gusto, travelling with Ev to friends and family.  Even when he began to experience some challenges with his health, he fiercely maintained his autonomy and continued to make friends. 

I know that he is dancing in heaven today with his first love, Janet.

I always called you Daddy.  You loved God and you loved your family.  You took good care of us.  You believed in honesty and in prayer.
I miss you very much even though I know you are with the Father in heaven.

Dad, you were the best dad any girl could have.  I have so many great memories...fishing, camping, car trips, playing cribbage, taking me the hospital for my broken arm, picking out my first prom dress...I could go on and on.  Thank you, Dad, for teaching me to be honest and hard-working, to always do your best and no job is too small.  I love you.
