Samuel Minniefield

Samuel Minniefield was born in Selma, Alabama on November 15, 1938. His parent Walter Minnifield and Frances Mae Fikes-Minnifield (preceded him in death). His birth father Willie Tate (preceded him in death). Samuel was the oldest of 16 children. Five brothers-Grady, Walter, Willie, Rufus & Wilburt Minnifield & one half-brother Ernest Tate (who also preceded him in death). One sister, Juanita Minnifield & one half-sister, Dorothy Tate (who preceded him in death).

Samuel was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama. Samuel relocated to Victorville, CA in the early 1950’s. He served in the Army National Guard from June 1956 to June 1960. He worked many years at Southwestern Cement Company, also for Almux for over 25 years. He was a carpenter, loved landscaping, & building things. He was a jack-of-all-trades. Samuel loved going on walks, being outdoors and meeting new people, no one was a stranger to him. No matter where he lived, Samuels heart was always back home in Alabama.

Samuel married Roamain Arnold (who preceded him in death); to this union were born two children. A son, David Lee Minniefield (who preceded him in death), a daughter Lou Anne Minniefield. Samuel married Linda Lee Pullar (who preceded him in death), to this union was born a son, Samuel Minniefield, Jr.

Samuel leaves his memories to be cherished by his two children; Lou Anne Minniefield, & Samuel Minniefield Jr. Six sisters; Daisy Williams & Charlie Minnifield, Dorothy (Cortez) Driskell, Lillie Minnifield, Georgia Minnifield, Linda (Rudolph) McDowell and three half-sisters; Mary Tate, Laura Tate-Smith & Inez Tate-Parker. Three brothers; Freddie (Mary) Minnifield, Shepard (Charlotte) Minnifield, Ferdinand Minnifield, and three half-brothers; Willie, Frank & John Tate. Seven grandchildren; Anthony Minniefield, Devetta Minniefield, Leodis Harrison Jr., Lekeisha Harrison, Brendan Baker, Shay Minniefield & Samuel Minniefield III. Four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
