Funeral services for Shirley Ann Button will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 am at Green Acres Memorial Park Mortuary in Bloomington, Ca., followed by a graveside burial where she will be laid to rest next to her first husband and youngest child.
Born in San Francisco, Ca. on July 12, 1935, to Carl and Martha Hoppe, Shirley was one of five children and the only daughter. She spent a few years in Chicago as a child then moved back to California for the remainder of her life.
Shirley married the late Robert C. Button in 1952, and they were married over 50 years. Together they built a family with five children -Janice Strahl, Debbie Scott, Kathy Marvin, Jeanne Chastain-Rouse, and James “Jimbo” Button.
Shirley worked in the catalog department at Sears for many years. She raised her children, helped provide for her family and truly cares and loved everyone she knew. Throughout her life, she enjoyed bowling, growing her garden, playing Yahtzee, building puzzles, and spending quality time with family.
Shirley is survived by three of her five children, two brothers, and many grand and great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
She lived a long life filled with love, family, friends, and faith. As the heart of our family and the “button” that kept us all together, she leaves a legacy of strength, kindness and endless love for all to cherish.
