Carolyn Marie Lishka

Carol was a beacon of kindness and selflessness who was always helping others and putting their needs ahead of her own.

She married William Charles Lishka on December 17, 1971, and together they built a life filled with love and purpose. Carol retired as Chief of Operations at Owens Nursery after 54 years. She is remembered for her dedication and leadership.

A passionate gardener and nurturing soul, Carol was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Bloomington until its closure. She taught Sunday school for years as she loved the little children. She has recently been attending Evangelical Free Church and utilizing her god given gifts to beautify God’s house of worship. She leaves behind her husband William Lishka; children Michael Paul (Yimin Wang) Lishka, and April Lishka; siblings Richard Weed, Mary Lou Barker, and Thomas Weed; extended family Deanne, Katana, and Grayson College and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ralph Weed, and close friend Richard Owen.

Services will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Free Church
