Dixie was born July 16, 1941 to William and Lena (Kaupp) Andrews.
She was a graduate of Bloomington High School, upon graduation she worked for Kathryn Beich and then worked in the real estate field while raising her family. Dixie was a lifelong cat lover, she always said she hated to cook but was great at it! And you always knew how she felt.
Dixie married Jerry Abbott and she is survived by their two sons: Jeffrey Abbott of Normal and Jamie (Robbi) Abbott of Arlington, TX; grandsons: Jarek Abbott of Arlington, TX, Justin Abbott of Bellflower, IL and Walker Moreland of Arlington, TX; sister: Donna (Ed) Monroe of Peoria; her beloved cat: Contessa “Tess”; many loved nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6pm Thursday November 7, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd. Bloomington, IL 61704.
