Dolores M Driscoll

She was born December 4, 1933 in Chenoa Township, IL, daughter of C. Melvin and Amanda F. Benedict Skaggs. She married Robert D. Driscoll on March 20, 1976 in Bloomington, he preceded her in death on August 3, 2009 in Normal.

Surviving are her daughter, Cara Bean of New Albany, OH; five children from her union with Robert, Cherilyn Sytar of Bloomington, Rob Driscoll of Sunset Beach, CA, Paula Wood of Austin, TX, Scot Driscoll of Peoria and Steve Driscoll of Ingram, TX. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Lora Brown of Apopka, FL and a brother, Donald Skaggs of Florence, AZ.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda "Mindy" Slate; a granddaughter, Dayna Minder; a brother, Thomas Skaggs and an infant sister.

Dee retired after a long career at Firestone in Normal. After her retirement, she became an avid golfer, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband, Bob.

Her memorial service will be held at a later date at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. Entombment will take place at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Diabetes Research Institute or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
