Don Victor Blessing

Don was born October 2nd, 1941, in Orange City, Iowa, the son of Victor and Grace (Stearns) Blessing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Magna (Möller) Blessing and by his parents.

Surviving are two sons, Dave (Deb) Blessing, Bloomington, and Jeff (Karen) Blessing, Minier; five grandchildren, Blake Blessing, Minier; Emily (Jeff) Engle, Bloomington; Chloe (Brian) Cole, Bloomington; Kelly (Aaron) Elgin, Danvers; and Kevin White, Normal; six great-grandchildren.

He worked as a manager for State Farm Insurance for many years and eventually retired from the company.

Don had a lifelong love of sports, especially his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings. In high school, he played football and baseball. He spent his free time watching and playing golf, traveling the world, and entertaining the people he loved.

Per Don’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held from 11am – 1pm Oct. 19th at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
