Don was born on September 10, 1937, in McLean, the son of Frederick and Irene Mable (Hickman) Snow. On October 16, 1965, he married the love of his life, Rose Marie Carr. They shared a lifetime of love, loyalty, and commitment, building nearly 61 beautiful years together before her passing on February 19, 2026. After her passing, the depth of their bond was evident, as Don gently followed her in death just eleven days later—reunited once more after a lifetime together. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
Don’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He is lovingly remembered by his four children; Tina (Ken) Holliger, Eric (Kris) Snow, Donald Jr. (Stacey) Snow, and Tanya (Scott) Erbe, all of Bloomington, who carry forward his strength, humor, and steady presence. He was a proud grandfather to Cory (Tory) Snow, Ashley (Tim) McDonald, Kinzie (Dani) Washington, Zach Snow, Keelin Erbe, Jordan Snow, Travis Mitchell and Megan Houston and a cherished great-grandfather to Darrion, Jocelyn, Carter, Harper, Jourdyn, Journee, Kiara, and Myla. His legacy also lives on through many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will fondly remember his stories and quiet kindness.
A proud United States Army veteran, Don carried his sense of duty and dedication into every chapter of his life. He spent 35 years working in maintenance at State Farm Insurance, where his strong work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of coworkers and friends alike.
Outside of work, Don found joy in the simple pleasures—riding his motorcycle, watching westerns and NASCAR races, and while he was able, playing in the State Farm softball league. Yet nothing compared to the happiness he found in time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. Whether offering steady advice, lending a helping hand, or simply sitting together in comfortable silence, Don’s presence was a source of strength and reassurance. His love was constant, practical, and deeply felt.
Though he will be deeply missed, Don’s love, lessons, and quiet strength will live on forever.
A memorial visitation celebrating Don and Rose’s remarkable journey together will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Monday, March 16, 2026, at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. A private inurnment will take place at a later date where military honors will be accorded.
