

Dorene was born February 21, 1926, in Chicago, IL., the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Schlichting) Hickstein. She married Arthur Montague on September 20, 1950, in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Gregory (Connie) Montague of Normal; Gary (Carol) Montague of Normal; and Scott (Liz) Montague of Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Geoff (Krista) Montague; Jennifer Montague; Lauren (Dr. Miles) Hartsfield; Melina (Mike Kruse) Montague; Alyssa (David Decker) Montague; Monica (Alex) Bada; Morgan (Kevin Roberts) Montague; and Mitchell Montague; four great-grandchildren, Kylie; Mackenzie; Brendon; and Mia; a sister, Alberta Taylor of Rochelle, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Arthur Jefferson, Jr.; a sister, Lillian Mather; and a brother-in-law, O.J. Taylor.
Dorene loved gardening and was a member of the African Violet Club for many years. She enjoyed bowling, tennis and golfing with her many friends at Bloomington Country Club. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips with her husband and enjoyed six family cruises. One of Dorene's favorite quotes was "One word from me and you do as you damn well please." She loved babysitting for all of her grandchildren every Monday when they were young.
Per Dorene’s wishes, cremation has been accorded; there will be a private family service at a later date in Wisconsin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
